Single-family homes
Standard HO-3 style protection built around construction, roof age and mitigation features.
Built for the risks around your home — wind, fire, theft, water and liability. Coverage selected around the property you actually own.
A hurricane does not have to destroy your entire house to create a costly loss. Roof damage lets rain into ceilings and walls. A broken pipe ruins flooring, cabinets and belongings. A fire can make the home unlivable even when part of the structure is still standing.
Florida policies vary widely. One may include wind coverage while another excludes it. Deductibles, roof settlement terms, water-damage limits and personal property valuation all differ — which is why they should be reviewed rather than assumed.
A standard homeowners policy normally combines several types of protection. The exact coverage depends on the policy form, carrier, endorsements, limits and exclusions — and we walk you through each one before you choose.

Protects the structure — roof, walls, floors, built-in cabinets, plumbing, electrical, permanently installed A/C and attached garages. Your limit should reflect the cost to rebuild, not market value.
Detached garages, sheds, fences, gazebos, guest structures and qualifying improvements — usually a percentage of the dwelling limit, with higher limits available.
Furniture, clothing, electronics, appliances, décor, tools and other belongings damaged by fire, theft, wind or another insured event.
Legal defense, settlements and judgments when you or a household member is held responsible for someone else's injury or property damage.
Helps pay certain medical expenses when a guest is accidentally injured on your property, often regardless of fault.
Additional living expenses — temporary housing, meals, storage, laundry, pet boarding — while covered repairs are completed.
Helps pay your share of a qualifying HOA or condo association assessment for insured losses involving shared property.
Jewelry, artwork, collectibles, firearms and business property that exceed the limits inside a standard policy.

Hurricane coverage generally applies to covered wind damage during the legally defined hurricane period. It does not mean every form of storm-related water damage is covered — rain entering through an opening created by wind may be covered while storm surge and rising water are excluded.
Miami sits at sea level, floods during heavy rain and faces storm surge during hurricanes. Two inches of water inside a home can cause $30,000 or more in damage, and standard homeowners policies exclude it entirely.
Structure, foundation, electrical and plumbing systems, permanently installed equipment and certain built-in appliances. NFIP residential limit: $250,000.
Furniture, clothing, portable appliances and electronics. NFIP residential limit: $100,000, purchased separately with its own deductible.
Private flood insurance may offer different limits, deductibles, waiting periods and loss-of-use options. We compare both.

The right insurance form depends on the type of home and how it is occupied. Availability depends on condition, location, roof, inspections, prior claims and underwriting.

HO-6 coverage for interior improvements, belongings, liability, fixtures and loss assessments the master policy leaves out.
Coordinated with association responsibilities so you are not paying twice or leaving gaps.
Landlord-oriented forms with liability and loss-of-rent considerations.
Occupancy-aware coverage for properties that sit vacant part of the year.
Custom construction, imported finishes, fine art, wine, smart-home systems, pools, guesthouses and extended replacement cost.
Two homes with similar market values can receive very different quotes when their roofs, construction, locations and storm protections differ.
Chasing the cheapest home insurance in Miami can cost more after a claim. Before you buy, check the hurricane deductible, whether the roof is covered at replacement cost, whether wind is included, how much water damage is covered, and how long additional living expenses are paid.

I would like to thank Sonia for her knowledge, professionalism and going the extra mile. When it seemed like I would have to close, Sonia came through with a great A-rated company. She is definitely the best at what she does.

Insurance is complicated enough. Alliance is the best experience I've ever had with insurance agents — they answer their phones and talk you through the whole process.
I called Sonia and she got on it right away — a fair quote, documents sent, no lapse in insurance. Genuinely responsive people who follow through.
Home insurance in Miami is among the most expensive in the country because of hurricane exposure and flood risk. On average, homeowners pay between $2,500 and $6,000 per year, but rates vary depending on location, home value, roof condition and claims history. Coastal homes in Miami Beach often see higher premiums than properties further inland.
The right time to understand your policy is before wind, fire, theft or water damage affects your home. Request a personalized quote and protect your home with coverage selected around the property you actually own.
